Quality Control

The essence of quality control in extracts is purity. At JARVIS Botanical Extracts every stage of the extraction is meticulously controlled. The raw materials are certified for quality: they are tested for contamination or deterioration.

Then they are carefully stored in the correct humidity before extraction commences. Water, oils, alcohols are tested thoroughly before use.

The gentle processes needed to encourage certain plants to give up their activities are known to us, as are the more intense treatments needed to encourage others. Each process is monitored for time, temperature and hygiene. Concentrations are measured and checked in our laboratories; every batch is recorded with a retained sample stored. Full microbiological tests are mounted: more detailed tests for trace elements of pesticides and heavy metals are made, depending on the final extract.
